Description
The gentle freshness of the eucalyptus groves
Eucalyptus trees line roads, plains and forests across Morocco’s Atlantic regions, and when they flower, they give one of the country’s most popular honeys. Eucalyptus honey is mellow and smooth, with a distinctive cool, balsamic aroma โ a subtle menthol freshness that sets it apart from any other honey in our collection.
A winter tradition
In Morocco, eucalyptus honey is inseparable from the cold season. It is the honey traditionally stirred into warm lemon water, herbal teas and milk when the weather turns โ cherished for the soothing, comforting feeling of its fresh aromatic profile. Families keep a jar within easy reach from autumn to spring, and its gentle sweetness makes it a favourite with children as much as adults.
Origin and terroir
Our eucalyptus honey comes from established groves in Morocco’s western plains, where beekeepers place their hives during the winter flowering. The maritime climate โ mild, humid, bathed in Atlantic air โ gives a generous nectar flow and a honey with a light amber colour, a supple texture and remarkable roundness. It is harvested raw, cold-extracted and gently filtered, preserving its natural aroma intact.
How to enjoy it
- Stirred into warm water with lemon or ginger โ a classic Moroccan winter ritual.
- By the spoonful in the evening, for its calm, balsamic finish.
- On toast, in yogurt or over porridge for an everyday touch of freshness.
Eucalyptus honey crystallises relatively quickly by nature โ fine, creamy crystals are a hallmark of the variety and proof it has not been overheated. Warm the jar gently in warm water if you prefer it liquid.
